What do guests think about this lodging establishment?
The Hotel Alixares in Granada receives mixed reviews from guests. While some guests had a disappointing experience, others found the location and service to be excellent. The hotel's proximity to the Alhambra is a highlight, allowing for easy access to the popular attraction. The staff is described as friendly and accommodating, with a willingness to meet guests' needs. However, there are some concerns about the outdated rooms, including old carpets and small bathrooms. Noise can also be an issue, with early morning kitchen activities causing disturbances. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet is praised for its quality. Overall, the hotel's convenience and helpful staff make it a suitable choice for those looking to visit the Alhambra.

Second time we have stayed here, the first was in 2009. We stayed 2 nights on this occasion
The hotel is still just as good. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food at breakfast was excellent, a really good selection. We were always greeted with a smile and recognition at reception who had our key ready for us and check it took but a minute. Same for checking put.
The buffet dinner was also very good, with a wide choice and helpful staff who took time to help me with my allergy ( to funghi) and select foods I could enjoy. The steaks were cooked fresh to order and were superb.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and tidy and the heating was so efficient. The hotel was quiet and peaceful and, yes, it really is almost at the ticket office to the Alhambra Palace, maybe just 3 minutes walk away.
We took our car and valet parking was efficient and at 17 euros per night was about right.
Take a taxi to the city for around 5-6 euros but stay at Alixares for the peace, quiet and views of the Alhambra.
We would go again and I would highly recommend this hotel :D
Thank you to all staff there who made the of us, we had booked 2 rooms, very welcome and comfortable during our relaxing stay.

Really is at the doors of the ticket office for the Alhambra! The location is quiet, peacful and just perfect for Alhambra visits. It is a bus ride to the main city - which is busy and noisy and hot, so we were so glad to be staying out of the city in such a peaceful location amongst the trees.
Friendly staff, who were attentive, helpful and did there best to understand our Spanish! The staff speak some English, too, but were happy to help us practice our Spanish.
We had a very helpful chef, who dealt well with our allergies cheerfully, and was able to advise us just what we could and could not eat.The breakfasts were excellent - but don\'t go down after 9.15am, as there were no croissants/cakes left! Come early for a real feast!
Buffet restaurant had a varied selection of delicious dishes and was reasonably priced. Drinks not included, but were not over the top expensive. Buffet ending at 10pm seemed a little early for Spanish eating, but there was another, quite expensive, al la carte restaurant on the 3rd floor, for late dining.
Pool seating area was a little small, with not enough shade/sun umbrellas, but the pool was warm and a good size.
Our room, for 3, was quite spacious and very clean. Air conditioning worked well, and owing to the quiet location, we slept likes tops!
Would go again, if re-visiting the amazing Palace of the Moorish Kings - just a great 2 nights stay - thanks to all the staff . - 4.6Nice Hotel directly in front of the Alhambra.Gernot - Jun 2, 2008
The Alixares is a really nice hotel in front of the Alhambra. On foot you can reach the city center in about 20 minutes. With Taxi it is about 4 to 7 Euro to go into the city, depending if night or day. They have a few parking places near the hotel for 13 Euros and for the same price there is the possibility of parking at the Alhambra parking place (about 5 Minutes on foot from the hotel). Inside there are WiFi points and also inside the rooms, but the connection is really slow, about 50 kB/s. It is possible to book a guide through the Alhambra directly at the reception, but it is of course a bit costlier than the normal price of the Alhambra. Normally there is about 1 hour waiting time to book directly at the Alhambra without prior reservation.Prices at the hotel bar and the minibar are comparativley cheap and the breakfast ist really good. All in all the Alixeres is a good hotel at a moderate price, with a very nice and helpful staff. :D

Friendly staff and incredibly well situated hotel, just at the foot of the Alhambra. Our room also had a really nice view! However... Definitely not a 4 star experience. We were stuck by a super strong smell of dog as soon as we walked into our room. W

A lovely hotel just a short walk from the Alhambra Palace. The rooms were very clean. Plenty of hot water, comfy bed. Breakfast buffet excellent with good choices as was the buffet evening meal. Couldn’t fault it. Susanna on reception was really friendly

Comfortable bed. No curtain to make the room dark. Room had a light outside the window. Shower glass wall not large enough to keep floor dry. Bath tub slippery and dangerous. The bacon was not crispy enough, was sort of like a wet rag like most all bacon

Great location - so close to Alhambra Palace. Breakfast buffet was good - not the biggest range but definitely high on quality. Lovely public areas lounges and terrace area. Friendly helpful staff. Lots of coach tours use the hotel so they tend to congr
